Who and Why
Spirituality from the point of view of a middle-aged provincial Englishwoman.
In July 2025 my life began changing in unexpected ways…and over the subsequent months my whole life has fallen away: I have shed my day job, a partner, friendships, and currently my property is on the market pending relocation. But that is small fry compared to the shift that has gone on inside me: My spiritual awakening.
To the external world I present much as other women of my generation: Having trod the corporate path and done OK. Have my own house and car, and can afford to treat myself to a few luxuries. Mildly cultured, kind to others, no real distinguishing qualities.
One of the biggest hurdles I faced was overcoming the notion that a spiritual life was not for people like me; that it was rather frivolous and detracted from the real business of life – earning a living. Of course, this is not true. It is for me – as it is for you.
As I began to actively partake in my path, I realised that there was no definitive instruction manual, and what I could access was written in a foreign language. It's in my nature to want the receipts! I drew together a plethora of information about basic terminology, spiritual practices and beliefs. All of this I am happy to share – this website is set up to enable you to get an overview and basic understanding of the esoteric and metaphysical.
However, my aspirations are greater than this alone: These are set out in the coming pages.
